Choosing a human hair wig without guessing
There are four decisions in front of you, and only four.
Cap type. Glueless units come pre-cut with an elastic band and go on in minutes — the right starting point if you have never installed a wig, or if adhesive irritates your skin. A 13x4 HD lace frontal gives you four inches of parting depth. A 13x6 gives you six, which is what you need for a deep side part or a half-up style. A 4x4 or 5x5 closure gives you a clean middle part with far less lace to manage, at a lower price for the same quality of hair.
Texture. Straight is sleek but least forgiving at the lace edge. Body wave is the most versatile — it straightens and reverts. Deep and water wave hold their pattern hardest through washing. Kinky curly reads most like natural hair, and shrinks the most.
Length. Measured from the top of the cap with the hair stretched straight. Textured units wear shorter than their label: water wave loses about two inches, kinky curly can lose five. Order up if you want a specific finished length.
Density. How much hair is on the cap. 150% is natural and light. 180% is our default, and what most people picture when they picture a wig. 200% is maximum volume — the right call for bobs, for long lengths, and for bleached hair, which reads thinner than natural.
